KIDS MINISTRY

#LovedAndSafe

Growing Together

We are truly delighted that you are considering FCCNS Church for your family! Our Kids Ministry exists to partner with parents in helping children come to know Jesus Christ, grow in their faith, and build a strong biblical foundation that will guide them throughout their lives. Whether your child is visiting church for the very first time or has been learning God’s Word for years, they will be welcomed with open arms, genuine love, and Christ-centered care.

Every child is uniquely created by God and deeply loved by Him. Our desire is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can experience God’s love, learn the truths of Scripture, worship with joy, and develop meaningful friendships with other children who are growing in their faith. We are committed to helping every child discover that they are valued, known, and have a purpose in God’s Kingdom.

When your children are in our care, you can worship with confidence and peace of mind. Their safety and well-being are among our highest priorities. Our caring team of volunteers includes many parents and grandparents who understand the importance of providing a secure, loving, and encouraging environment where children can thrive. We count it a privilege to invest in the next generation and to point young hearts toward Christ.

Our primary Kids Ministry opportunities take place during our Sunday morning worship services at 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM. Children are placed in age-appropriate classrooms designed to meet their developmental and spiritual needs. Through Bible lessons, worship, crafts, activities, and interactive learning, each child is encouraged to grow in their knowledge and love of God.

Beyond Sunday mornings, we also offer seasonal Bible studies and small groups for the entire family—including opportunities designed especially for children. These groups provide another wonderful way to build friendships, grow in God’s Word, and strengthen your family’s walk with Christ throughout the year. To learn more about current opportunities, click the “Study Group Information” link below.

We look forward to welcoming your family and walking alongside you as, together, we seek to raise the next generation to know, love, and faithfully follow Jesus Christ.

Solid Curriculum

We believe that God’s Word has the power to transform lives at every age, and we are excited to use the Grow Curriculum as part of our Children’s Ministry. Each lesson is thoughtfully designed to help children know Jesus, understand the Bible, and discover how to live out their faith in everyday life.

Every week, children throughout our ministry explore the same biblical theme or passage, creating a shared learning experience for families while ensuring that each child receives teaching that is appropriate for their age and stage of development. For example, while our older students may study the life of Daniel by examining his faith and courage in greater depth, our younger children will learn the same biblical truths through lessons, activities, and discussions created especially for them. This approach helps every child engage with Scripture in a meaningful and memorable way.

Our goal is more than simply teaching Bible stories—we want children to understand God’s great plan of redemption, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and grow into lifelong followers of Him. Every lesson is presented with biblical truth, enthusiasm, creativity, and purpose, helping children discover that God’s Word is alive, relevant, and worthy of building their lives upon.

Here are just a few of the many things we love about the Grow Curriculum:

  • Bible-based
  • Aligns with our statement of faith
  • Media-oriented

Registration Process

Ready to get your kids involved? Let’s talk registration. You can register your child in-person at the Check-In Stations or online by filling out the “Register My Family” form below. Once you arrive at church, you can check-in your child in at the Self Check-In Station or with a Safety Team member at the Main Check-In Station located in the wing opposite of the worship center.

To make things easier, we use an app called “Church Center” to securely register, check-in, and check-out your child. While it is not necessary, using the Church Center app will help you manage your household information, check-ins, and many other things. Here is how to get Church Center app setup:

  • Download the Church Center app by clicking the “Download Church Center” link below. If this is your first time using the app, please go through the registration process. If you registered through the form above, it will take about 24 hours for your information to show up on the app.
  • Click “Hello, (Name)!” which can be found under the “Me” tab.
  • Choose “Contact and profile information” to change/confirm your information and also “Household” to change/confirm your child’s information.
  • If applicable, be sure to add/edit your child’s grade level – this will help at the check-in process.
  • A staff member will help you add/edit/remove a trusted guardian.

    Safety Information

We want everyone who comes into our church to feel welcome and to have an awesome experience worshiping our Lord and Savior. The number one priority of our Safety Team is to keep our kids as safe as possible while attending services and other events. A safety program has been implemented here to and help make your child’s learning experience and your worship experience the best it can be.

By allowing your child into our ministry, not only can they grow, but you can too! You will be able to fully engage in worship knowing your child is safe, smiling and growing with Jesus. In the rare event that you child needs you during a worship experience, the unique number printed on your label (given at check-in) will appear on the projection system or if you get a text message sent to your registered phone number.

All of our volunteers have been screened and have up-to-date clearances on file. If you have any concerns, just reach out to a marked Safety Team or Kid’s Ministry Team volunteer. They are always happy to help!

Here are some additional safety highlights:

    • When registering through the Church Center app, please make a note of any person who cannot as well as who can check-in or check-out your child. In addition to trusted adults, make add any allergies or special notes to your child’s profile. Your child’s sensitive information is securely stored in the Planning Center database.
    • A parent, guardian or trusted adult must drop off child at check-in station. The child cannot check themselves in.
    • After worship service, please be prompt when picking up your child. Once your child is checked out, it is your responsibility to monitor them.
    • Due to distractions with the classrooms and for the safety of each child, parents and guardians are not permitted to enter past the Main Check-In Station. This allows us to ensure that every person who enters the classroom has been verified and has up-to-date child clearances on file.
    • If you would like see your child, you can take them out of the classroom by showing a marked Safety Team, Check-In Team, or Kid’s Ministry Team volunteer your corresponding tag or by providing your registered phone number. Room 105 is a designated sensory/cry room for your convenience.
    • In the rare event of a fire or active attacker, our Kid’s Ministry Team and Safety Team members will get your child to a safe location outside of the building. Please refrain from attempting to get your child out of the class as this may cause confusion and chaos. Once the children are outside and the teacher has taken attendance to make sure all children are accounted for. A mobile check-out process will occur.
